A frustrating weekend for Lomax

lomax2-inaThe Preseason Confidence for Xtreme Rallycross driver Craig Lomax was proved to be correct after a dominant weekend at Lydden Hill for Round 1 of the Shannon Holdings British Rallycross Hot Hatch Championship. In the three Qualifying heats, Lomax dominated the class with two heat wins out of three and set fastest time of the day, (giving him the vital bonus points in the championship) this domination gave Lomax Pole Position in his A Final.

Lomax thoughts after his qualifying were simple, "The car and engine are so much more competitive this year. The New engine is so strong throughout the rev range, I've Never driven a car with such a responsive engine, obviously all the hard work with Dave Marshall at Milltek and impulse race engines and TMS rolling road has worked a treat"

As the team got ready for their final the organisers had to cancel the Hot Hatch A final, (due to circumstances beyond their control) so Lomax wasn't able to continue on his winning Streak on Track.

Points were awarded on qualifying positions which means the Baxi Avanti driver secured a maximum points haul in Rd 1, giving him a healthy points lead going into Rd 2 at Valkenswaard, Holland, a new track to all the competitors, so Lomax is confident the new car should be ideal

"I can't wait to try the car out on a proper European style Rallycross track, it's new to us all so it should be a proper battle all weekend, and the team should learn more about the car"

The round in Holland is home to Baxi Avanti and team Xtreme are looking forward to welcoming them to see the exciting sport ofRallycross.
