DAMS and Lucas Oil Targeting 2nd Place at Silverstone

DAMS, the Lucas Oil-sponsored F2 racing team heads for Silverstone this weekend on the shoulder of the Team Championship leaders in third place. In the Driver’s Championship, Ayumi Iwasa lies third, just four points adrift of second place and 24 points off the lead.

His second place in the Feature Race last week in Austria, with the fastest lap, was the latest in series of fastest laps, victories and strong finishes that have brought him and the team right back in contention for serious honours, this season. The Red Bull Junior made several overtakes, challenging for victory on the final lap. His points haul of 20 included 18 points for the place plus a bonus of two points for the fastest lap time.

“In the Team Championship, Dams is 69 points behind Prema Racing, which is the leading team. Second place is just 24 points off and that’s a healthy target to aim for in Round 9 this weekend,” says Lucas Oil’s sales and operations director Dan Morgan.
