(2nd May, 2022) –

Lucas Oil’s Junior Saloon Car Championship driver Jacob Heap raced past 22 competitors from the back of the grid to secure 5th place in the 5th Round at the Cadwell Park circuit, in Lincolnshire.

His astonishing run around the ‘Mini Nürburgring’ was all the more impressive given the engine problems experienced during qualifying and a puncture in Round 3 that had already severely restricted his competitive driving time on the day.

In the third and final race of the meeting, the Citroen Saxo driver had moved from 27th to 9th after just 3 laps. He then took advantage of a short respite from racing while the safety car took control, before charging through the ranks to contest for 3rd place. He eventually dropped back to claim the points that lifted him into 16 place in the championship standings.

“Heap is one of the youngest members of Lucas Oil’s UK racing family and this was a very creditable performance,” says Dan Morgan, sales and operations director for Lucas Oil Products (UK). “He’s a really exciting prospect and he’s really delivering on the track.”

The car races on Lucas Oil’s standard road car oil, synthetic SAE 5W20, which delivers maximum protection for the engine throughout the punishing race series. A selection of lubricants from the workshop range plus products from the car care range help ensure the car is competitive and looks its best around the track.

Rounds 6 and 7 are at Snetterton, in Norfolk, from 14-15th May.
