Lucas Oil Driver Mounts Strong Defence of His British Drift Championship

(September 23, 2020) –

Lucas Oil driver Ollie Evans continued the defence of his  British Drift Championship Pro title after a tight finish to claim second place in Round Two at the Three Sisters Race Circuit in Wigan.

The battle for the top of the podium proved to be the event everyone wanted as the 2019 BDC Champion’s Nissan S14.5 faced the Nissan S13 driven by the 2018 Champion Duane McKeever. Evans’ second place in successive rounds leaves him just ten points behind McKeever, who is the overall leader on 100 points.

Lucas Oil is the BDC 2020’s exclusive oil and additives brand. The US oils, additives and lubricants manufacturer is using the series to promote the Lucas Oil Racer Discount Club. LORDC is a programme designed to support grassroots-level racers and motorsports enthusiasts by providing them with access to discounted rates on Lucas Oil products, as well as other motor racing products from some carefully selected retail partners.

In addition to its sponsorship of Evans, Lucas Oil is also rewarding stylish driving performances with the Pro Lucas Oil Hard Charger award. The Round Two winner was Paul Cunnington.

Dan Morgan, Director of Sale and Operations for Lucas Oil Products (UK) says the excitement generated by the sport is the reason why the brand chose to invest in the BDC 2020 season:

"Drift Racing is one of the fastest growing motorsport disciplines in the country and it is the perfect showcase for our LORDC programme. Our driver Ollie Evans is well placed to defend his title and if he can reverse the Round 2 result at the Teeside Autodrome (2-4 October) in  Round 3, it will set up a very exciting second half of the season."
