H-Engineering Triumph in the Zolder SuperPrix

Against all the odds the H-Engineering Team won both rounds of the EuroBoss Masters series at last weekends Zolder SuperPrix in Belgium. Driving the ex Michele Alboretto Footwork Arrows A11B, driver Anthony Hansford fought off strong opposition in both races to finish 5th overall in the main race and 1st in the EuroBoss Masters category for pre 1990 Grand prix cars. These victories now place Anthony and the H-Engineering team in a strong 1st position in the championship.

24hrs earlier all thoughts of achieving two victories seemed very remote. Following a spectacular clutch and flywheel failure in qualifying, the team were contemplating an early return to England on Sunday morning after all attempts to source new components in Belgium failed. However, following a valiant overnight dash back to England by two of the team members, new parts arrived and were duly fitted, resulting in the car taking to the track in the final four minutes of the morning warm-up.

One hour later Anthony was forced to start Race 1 from the back of the grid having failed to complete the requisite number of qualifying laps. He soon, however, was able to make his way through the field despite losing 4th gear and finally led the class after passing Henk de Boers Coloni with a few laps to go.

Between Races 1 and 2 the team inspected the gearbox to ascertain the loss of 4th gear only to find a number of stripped ratios. With insufficient time to effect repairs Anthony started race 2 from 5th on the grid with only 1st, 2nd, 5th and 6th gear. Despite this handicap and a race long duel with a Dallara Nissan and Larousse Lola he again finished 1st overall in the Masters class.

Dr. John of AM900 CHML

We recently received this e-mail from a gentleman known as Doctor John, from America. Dr. John has a internet radio show on AM900 CHML every Thursday 4.00pm to 5.00pm EST.

Hi Les, Dr. John the radio car doctor here. Thank you for helping out my UK listeners on Lucas Oil products. Just to put you in the picture, I came upon Lucas products in 1996 and decided to do my own tests, to see if it's claims were justified. As you know the old adage "If it sounds to good to be true, then it usually is!". Prior to this the best additive we had was called 'Tufoil', this was a Teflon based product, which appeared to have good results over the rest of shelf choices. But when I read one of the laboratory ex-scientist's reports, who had been involved in the making of it, I knew then that long term use was detrimental to the engine. I stopped recommending it to my listeners. It has now been withdrawn from the marketplace.

I was able to get some samples of Lucas products in '96 from a company who was selling the product, and to promote the company, I gave away Lucas as prizes for answering some automotive trivia. With each winner I gave a test sheet and asked them to fill this out and return it to me. The answers were very positive. I usually get two or three calls on air every week about the product or congratulating me on telling them about it and they used it and were completely satisfied that it works.

My e-mail from around the world averages 50 to 80 questions a day, and very often these are asking me about additives. Lucas is the only one I recommend and the rest are no-go. I also e-mail brochures out to interested parties. The little demo unit that sits on the counter shows exactly how good the Lucas Oil Stabilizer works, and I stress the fact that it totally stops cold engine start-up wear, the highest wear an engine experiences is in start-up. I have used it in my vehicles since 1996.

I will be putting up a web page explaining all the good things about Lucas products soon. To me Lucas isn't an additive, it's a medicine to extend the life of your engine!
