Racing Icon Receives Special Lucas Oil Award

Wales (December 13th, 2018) – 

He debuted the first Pure Hell fuel altered car in 1964. Its top speed was 238 mph in a time of 6.19 seconds. Rich raced cars in many different categories, including Funny Car and Top Fuel. He retired from active racing in 2000, but continued to take part in track events until relatively recently.

The award will sit alongside a host of other international awards including his Roadster Show Hall of Fame, San Francisco Roadster and Custom Motorcycle Hall of Fame. He w became a member of the International Drag Racing Hall of Fame in 2011.
