New Car Fit for Rising Young Star

The Lucas Oil Brad Jackson Racing livery for the 2017 drag race season was revealed on the Santa Pod stand (7460 in Hall 7) at the AutoSport International exhibition.

Twenty-year-old Brad Jackson is a final year IMI apprentice Light Vehicle Motor Technician from York. He is stealing the drag race headlines, with two major events in 21 days the end of last year. A Super Pro ET victory in the Open Sports National Finals at Shakespeare County Raceway, then a stunning win at the FIA European finals meeting at Santa Pod Raceway means Brad is the one to watch in 2017.Brad’s hero is Andy Carter, the four-time winner of the FIA European Top Fuel European Championship - three as part of the Lucas Oil team.

After unveiling the new look car at the Santa Pod Raceway stand (No.7460) in Hall 7 he said:“It was an honour to be asked to unveil the Brad Jackson Dragster. The new Lucas Oil design looks fantastic and I’m sure we are going to see a lot more of Brad on the winners’ podium during 2017.”The 2017 livery is designed by Pete Walters Race Design and Wayne Jackson. It is a pastiche of the successful eye-catching layout from last season
that caught the attention of everyone on so many occasions last season. The successful grey patchwork theme has evolved. It utilises the colours of the logo from Brad Jackson’s main sponsor, Lucas Oil, to spectacular effect.Brad is delighted to see the car unveiled by his sporting hero and is aiming to emulate Andy’s rise to the top.

His chase has begun with engine (V8 Big Block Chevrolet 565, 940 bhp) and gearbox rebuilds that will maximise dragster reliability next season. The car under the bodywork is the same as the 2016 specification. The additives and racing oils from Lucas Oil are will continue to help to ensure a reliable run of performances this season.
