Repeat Victory on cards?

Lomax

Friday 15th August 2014 - After a disastrous welsh trip, Knottingley (Leeds) based Baxi Avanti Xtreme RX driver Craig Lomax is hoping for a turn of luck when he returns to Lydden Hill (Kent) for Rnd 5 of the MSA British Rallycross Championship in association with the Shannon Groupon Bank Holiday Monday (August 25th).

This is the second visit of the year for the championship to Lydden Hill, after a curtailed event at Easter. Baxi Avanti Xtreme RX Driver Lomax qualified in Pole position for their final, but unfortunately the race was cancelled, so Lomax gained Maximum points by default. Since then Lomax has gone on to win 2 further rounds of the championship, which gives him a commanding 23 point lead in the Hothatch Class of MSA British Rallycross Championship in association with the Shannon Group.

With a Good result at Lydden Hill, Lomax could secure the 2014 Hothatch Class of MSA British Rallycross Championship in association with the Shannon Group with one round to go. There is a strong field of seven entrants at what is the spiritual home of Rallycross, Lydden Hill. Trying to stop him will be his closet championship challenger Tomasz Marciniak, as well as returning 2012 Champion Irish man Andrew Twomey, who will be looking to continue the Anglo Irish battles that have made Hot Hatch legendary over the years.

Lomax, “I can’t wait to race at Lydden, I was looking forward it last time here, and it was such a shame it was cancelled, Hopefully this weekend we can have great battle between all of us”

After leaving Pembrey with a destroyed clutch and gearbox, Baxi Avanti Xtreme RX have been working hard to replace the gearbox and clutch. “After the midseason rebuild, we didn’t get chance to run the new gearbox in, and the worst thing happened, unfortunately these things happen in motor racing, hopefully that’s our bad luck over with for the year. And we can secure the championship here, and relax and have fun at Croft later in the year”
